Infant & Child Feeding Questionnaire

The Feeding Matters Infant and Child Feeding Questionnaire is an evidence-based resource designed to help families better understand their child’s feeding development and identify potential areas of concern. The questionnaire is tailored to a child’s age, takes approximately 10–15 minutes, and provides information about typical feeding development as well as a way for families to discuss feeding concerns with their child’s physician.

The questionnaire was developed by internationally recognized feeding experts to support earlier identification of feeding challenges and appropriate referral to care. It is available for infants and children through 36 months, with age adjustments for children born prematurely.

Research Participants Needed

SLP Participants Needed

Northwestern University researchers are seeking SLPs with experience working with infants and performing videofluoroscopic swallow studies (VFSS) to participate in a research survey.

The study will explore current VFSS practices, documentation, policies, barriers, and facilitators with the goal of improving pediatric dysphagia assessment.

You may be eligible if you:

  • Are an SLP practicing in the U.S.
  • Work with infants
  • Perform VFSS

Participation is voluntary and uncompensated. This study has been approved by Northwestern University’s IRB.

Parent/Caregiver Participants Needed

UT Health San Antonio researchers are conducting a study to better understand caregivers’ experiences with Pediatric Feeding Disorder (PFD), including feeding concerns, healthcare visits, referrals, diagnosis, and support.

Parents or caregivers age 18+ with a child age 60 months or younger who has a PFD diagnosis may be eligible to participate. The anonymous online survey takes about 15 minutes, and participation is voluntary.

Physician Outreach Project

Feeding Matters, in collaboration with the Children’s Multidisciplinary Feeding Program at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, is working to improve the early identification of Pediatric Feeding Disorder (PFD) in primary care. The initiative provides a free, 15-minute online educational presentation focused on recognizing PFD and understanding best-practice recommendations.

Currently practicing pediatric physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners are invited to participate in a national research study evaluating the educational program. Participation is completely virtual and takes approximately 35 minutes, including a brief survey and pretest, the educational videos, and a post-test.

The goal is to better understand providers’ current knowledge and practices related to PFD and determine whether this brief educational program improves PFD knowledge and recognition.

Feeding Matters Directory

Being part of our community is great, but we would also like to refer providers to sign up in the worldwide PFD directory at https://www.feedingmatters.org/resources-support/provider-directory/. They have created a comprehensive database of feeding centers and healthcare professionals.

We also encourage all who are in our community to sign up as a Feeding Matters PFD Alliance Member (free) at https://www.feedingmatters.org/pfd-alliance/

Feeding Matters’ Pediatric Feeding Disorder (PFD) Alliance unites the field’s advocates, professionals, family members, and community partners to ignite unprecedented change to the system of care through shared-collective decisions, insights, and ideas. The PFD Alliance’s cooperative efforts are centered on four key pillars of development: advocacy, education, research, and family support. The four pillars work collectively to achieve community driven goals while ensuring both professionals and caregiver viewpoints are represented.
