About Us
We are Rich and Carrie Greenberg. Rich is a pediatrician and Carrie is a stay-at-home mother. We adopted our daughter, Marla, in 2013 through the Utah Foster Care system. Marla had severe oral aversion and feeding difficulties for years. She was sustained through feedings via her gastric tube (G-tube). We discovered that there is a large population of children similar to Marla who have feeding difficulties. We have seen a large need here in Utah for more resources to support this population of children. Therefore, we decided to begin hosting the Pediatric Feeding Symposium.
After the first year of the symposium, we organized a committee to help with this large project. Our first annual symposium was held in 2018 and had over 100 attendees. Our second symposium was in 2019 and included 10 local speakers from a variety of professions who work with children with feeding disorders.
Our goal is to build a community network for our pediatric feeding community. Parents dealing with Pediatric Feeding Disorders (PFD) can feel lost and alone. Medical providers do not always know who to reach out to for more support or whom to refer their patients to. Fortunately, there are a lot of resources locally and we believe in connecting these resources and providers for the benefit of children with feeding disorders.
Our Pediatric Feeding Symposium offers a chance for providers and caregivers to connect and gain valuable education with an opportunity to earn continuing education credits. We invite professionals from all disciplines working with children with feeding difficulties, including pediatricians, gastrointestinal physicians, practitioners, various therapists (OT, PT, Speech, Feeding), psychologists, and dietitians to attend this conference. We also invite parents, professors, teachers, instructors, school administrators, and students to attend. Our conference is for ANYONE who provides care for children with a pediatric feeding disorder.

Carrie Greenberg
Director and Founder
Bio
Carrie Greenberg graduated from UC Davis with a degree in landscape architecture and a minor in community development. She has worked in residential design and currently runs her own landscape business. Carrie also co-leads RAG Books, a pediatric education company she founded with her husband.
She has served on Holladay City’s Board of Adjustments and currently volunteers on the City Center Design Board. Inspired by her daughter’s severe feeding disorder, Carrie launched an annual pediatric feeding disorders conference. She co-authored the book and screenplay Surviving a Miracle and enjoys biking, hiking, and time with her family.
Shaun Banks

Bio
Shaun is a husband, father of four, local small business owner, and SLCC alumnus. After his youngest son was diagnosed with a pediatric feeding disorder (PFD) as an infant and required a long-term g-tube, Shaun developed a deep empathy for the patients, parents, and providers navigating these complex journeys. Driven by his family’s experience, he is passionate about advancing community resources and education through our annual conference. In his free time, Shaun loves trailer-camping, adventures with his family, and being a perpetual beginner on the guitar.
Bekah Brown
Registered Dietitian
Bio
Bekah graduated from BYU with a BS in Dietetics in 2019 and from ISU with a MS in Nutrition in 2020. She became a registered dietitian in 2021 and was fortunate to find a flexible position as a pediatrician dietitian with an early intervention program in Provo, Utah. She has worked there for around 4 years. She loves working with kids and parents on feeding, diet and lifestyle changes to optimize growth and development alongside a team of other practitioners including speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses, among others. Pediatric feeding is important to her as a mother as well. Bekah is happy to be a member of the pediatric feeding community!
Rich Greenberg, MD

Bio
Dr. Richard Greenberg is a general pediatrician at South Summit Pediatrics in the Salt Lake City area. He trained at UC Davis, the University of Utah, and completed a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at the University of Colorado. Formerly an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Utah, Dr. Greenberg specializes in pediatric nutrition, feeding disorders, and picky eating.
He has published and presented research on topics such as asthma, croup, and pediatric trauma, and is the author of The Emergency Room: When Does My Child Need to Go? and Surviving a Miracle. In addition to public speaking on child health and motivational topics, he enjoys marathons, baking, and traveling with his wife and three children.
Janene Day, MS, CCC-SLP

Bio
Janene Day is a Speech-Language Pathologist with 20 years of experience working across pediatric and adult populations. Her diverse background includes early intervention, elementary education, private practice, inpatient hospital care, and outpatient services. Janene is passionate about lifelong learning and enjoys sharing her knowledge through teaching and presentations. Outside of her professional work, she serves as a middle school PTA president and enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with her husband and two teenage children.

We are looking for passionate professionals, caregivers, students, and community members who are interested in supporting pediatric feeding education, advocacy, and collaboration. Committee members may assist with conference planning, social media, advertising, website support, sponsorships, outreach, volunteer coordination, and more.
